The Rembrandt is infamous for having been stolen from a Boston area art gallery. Where it is now who knows. Probably some fanatic collectors home somewhere. There is irony in having a stolen art work with the subject of the art Jesus. Clearly the lessons of the subject never stuck with the thief.

Clearly the lessons of the subject never stuck with the thief. I suppose all of us have found ourselves asking God's blessing on actions He has already declared to be forbidden. So that thief can never just enjoy his stolen trophy.

The Rembrandt was stolen from the Gardner Museum in Boston, and never has been recovered.
However, I spent many childhood hours there gazing upon it, and it is, of course, my favorite.
It is the only known seascape by Rembrandt.
